We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Geisinger in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

About the Role

As a Surgical Technologist II, you will play a vital role in assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical operations. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing operating rooms for surgery, sterilizing equipment, and supplying necessary tools.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the coordination of care in the operating room, preparing supplies and equipment for procedures, and maintaining accurate accounts of supplies used.

A critical aspect of this role is adhering to aseptic techniques while preparing for surgery, including scrubbing, applying surgical gowns, gloving, draping, and setting up instrument tables.

In addition, you will actively participate in surgical Time-Outs and OR Briefings, identifying correct surgical sites with circulating RNs and surgeons before incisions.

Your work will involve verifying counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurses at the end of procedures.

We offer a competitive salary of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization.
