Job Summary and Responsibilities
In your role as a Licensed Respiratory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering respiratory care to patients as directed by the attending physician. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting diagnostic evaluations to determine the necessity and effectiveness of therapy.
  • Initiating, monitoring, and managing patients on mechanical ventilation.
  • Administering and overseeing respiratory treatment protocols.
  • Documenting essential information in patients' medical records.
  • Performing both noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests.
  • Maintaining and calibrating respiratory care equipment.
  • Acting as a respiratory care protocol assessor.

Qualifications
Experience:
1-3 years in a similar role, preferably in an acute care setting.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in Texas.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications as per healthcare policy.
