Position Overview:

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated Nurse Educator 2 to enhance the training and development of our Surgical Services personnel. This role is pivotal in ensuring that both new and existing staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs and oversees the orientation process for new Surgical Service staff, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Coordinates and leads educational initiatives aimed at improving the competencies of nursing and clinical staff across multiple sites.
  • Develops and assesses educational programs based on identified practice gaps and regulatory standards.
  • Creates a collaborative learning environment by engaging with healthcare practitioners, leaders, and patient care staff.
  • Ensures that patient care staff are trained in the proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Monitors and documents staff competencies, addressing any deficits through targeted educational interventions.
  • Facilitates the onboarding process for healthcare personnel, focusing on retention and professional growth.
  • Collaborates with professional development departments to manage and evaluate orientation programs.
  • Engages in partnerships with various stakeholders to enhance educational offerings and achieve shared objectives.
  • Participates in the planning and execution of continuing education programs and workshops.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Certification and Licensing: Valid Florida RN license required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a related field is essential.
