Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team as a contract interpreter for an exceptional school district in Evans, GA. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with students who require sign language interpretation to access educational opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide sign language interpretation services to students in an elementary school setting.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other support personnel to ensure successful implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians to ensure seamless transitions and clear understanding of student needs.
- Document student progress and provide regular updates to educators and families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in American Sign Language (ASL) or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within the last 3 years.
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter credential/license or in process in state of practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
