Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Ultrasonographer at Medicine Journal, you will perform a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures, under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist. This role requires independent judgment and initiative in utilizing ultrasound equipment to create high-quality images. Excellent communication and rapport with physicians are essential.

Requirements:
  • ARDMS (compliant with all continuing education mandates) or graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS
  • ARRT Required for certain campuses (EAST)
  • Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required
  • Basic computer experience required (1-2 years work experience or college-level classes)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year prior hospital experience in ultrasound preferred
Position Requirements:
  • One of the following:
  • 1) ARRT and ARDMS registered
  • 2) ARDMS registered
  • 3) ARDMS registry eligible (certification within two years)
  • 4) BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
About the Role:

This position requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
