Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Welia Health. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients through patient triage, prescription refills, and management of INR patient care
• Follow a Provider-approved Refill Protocol to refill patient medications
• Dose patients on blood thinners according to a Provider-approved Protocol
• Meet with patients diagnosed with depression and provide one-on-one conversation and prescribed treatment and therapies within the scope of the RN
• Administer the PHQ-9 test over the phone to patients and gather information about their status
• Schedule appointments with patients' PCPs as needed
• Review lab schedules for the next day to ensure patients receive necessary labs for medications and quality initiatives
• Instruct diabetic patients on how to give themselves insulin injections
• Provide support to Providers and patients participating in the ICT Program
• Assist patients and Providers in setting up and completing telemedicine appointments
• Assess and respond to walk-in injuries, illnesses, and emergencies

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Minnesota RN License
• Three to five years of nursing experience in medical surgery or an appropriate specialty area
• Experience in an ambulatory care setting and one year of triage preferred
• Computer/keyboard familiarity helpful
• Maintain BLS certification
• Knowledge and ability to employ the principles, tools, and methods of TQI
• Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to handle fluctuating volumes of calls and problem-solve
• Ability to assess and respond to various patient needs quickly and efficiently
• Demonstrate ability to organize and exercise judgment
• Ability to learn keyboard/computer system

This position reports directly to the Clinical Services Manager for overall supervision, and to the Clinical Service Manager, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician for medical supervision and consultation. The RN works with patients, families, physicians, and other employees in addition to pre-hospital personnel.
