Position Summary:
Our team is in search of a driven and skilled Research Chemist to join our R&D Metrology Lab, contributing to our Microcontamination Control (MC) Division.
If selected for this position, you will become part of a highly proficient Metrology team, responsible for delivering dependable measurements that support both internal R&D initiatives and external client needs, particularly concerning our MicroContamination Control filtration products and membranes. Frequently, these measurements necessitate the creation of innovative techniques to tackle challenges posed by the swiftly evolving semiconductor sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analytical assessments based on established protocols and support ongoing laboratory functions.
- Initiate and promote continuous enhancement of existing laboratory procedures, analytical methodologies, documentation, and training resources.
- Oversee and troubleshoot laboratory apparatus while regularly updating standard operating procedures.
- Assist in the formulation of new techniques to assess current and future product lines.
- Execute validation studies on both new and existing methodologies to ensure data reliability and consistency.
- Collect, analyze, and review experimental data consistently with the analytical team.
- Effectively apply test outcomes into scientific principles, theories, and concepts for each project.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate project trajectories.
- Collaborate and engage in cross-functional teams as an analytical subject matter expert.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related technical discipline.
- Understanding and demonstration of safe material handling practices, with the ability to maintain a clean and secure workspace.
- Familiarity with analytical chemistry, statistical analysis, Lean Six Sigma principles, and process enhancement.
- 0-3 years of laboratory experience utilizing analytical instruments, including ICP-MS, GC-MS, LCMS, LPC, etc.
- Strong capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to perform laboratory tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple tasks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to continuous learning.
Preferred Attributes:
- Knowledge of nanoparticles and membrane-based separation techniques.
- Experience with the installation and qualification of new analytical equipment and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
