Job Summary

Sycamore Staffing Partners is seeking a skilled Tooling and Die Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Tooling & Dies within our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Interpret drawings, sketches, samples, and job instructions to plan and execute tasks related to the maintenance of all production tooling.
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate all machine shop tools such as mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Tolerance Calculation: Accurately calculate tolerances in the repair and refurbishing of punch press dies.
  • Collaboration: Work with Machinists on complex tasks to resolve issues as required.
  • Quality Control: Identify runouts or misalignments using indicators and other measurement tools.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to Production's set-up Technicians.
  • Documentation: Document Preventive Maintenance performed on all tooling.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
  • Education: GED / HS diploma or technical certificate required.
  • Experience: Machine shop experience operating mills, lathes, and surface grinders required; 4+ years of experience preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers required; ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Punch Press / Stamping Press and Die Maintenance experience preferred; ability to use computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel required; experience using Oracle preferred.
