A valid NYS Teacher Certification is essential.

This position spans ten (10) months, with the possibility of additional summer days as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate Planning Initiatives for BOCES Special Education Programs:

  • Collaborate with school leaders to create targeted, data-informed professional development opportunities.
  • Research and share insights aimed at enhancing the educational experiences of students with disabilities.
  • Support the implementation of NYSED initiatives and adherence to NYS Standards.
Onsite Professional Coaching and Support:
  • Evaluate teachers' skill levels to inform the ongoing development of tailored programs.
  • Demonstrate effective teaching strategies and provide continuous support, mentoring, and coaching through individual sessions and workshops.
  • Design and implement methods for assessing and enhancing professional learning initiatives.
  • Offer ongoing instructional support through classroom demonstrations, feedback sessions, lesson planning, and problem-solving strategies.
Workshops - On-Site and/or Regional:
  • Create and conduct a variety of workshops, including single-day, multi-day, and afterschool sessions aligned with district objectives.
  • Plan and deliver customized professional development services through presentations, facilitation, and consultation.
