Key Responsibilities:
- Perform work with a high level of quality, adhering to Messer's safety standards, while maintaining efficiency in planning and budgeting.
- Fabricate new parts and components for transport equipment.
- Install components in accordance with manufacturer specifications (e.g., brake/ABS/suspension systems, air systems, electrical/lighting, etc.).
- Repair components when feasible, rather than opting for replacement.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of prior welding experience or a welding diploma/certification from a vocational/technical institution.
- At least 2 years of fabrication experience.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fundamental knowledge of heavy-duty components and systems.
- Basic mechanic's tool set/toolbox.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and flowcharts.
- Fabricate sub-structures based on reference drawings/blueprints.
- Ability to read wiring and hydraulic diagrams and blueprints.
- Creative problem-solving skills to propose enhancements and modifications.
