Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform work with a high level of quality, adhering to Messer's safety standards, while maintaining efficiency in planning and budgeting.
  • Fabricate new parts and components for transport equipment.
  • Install components in accordance with manufacturer specifications (e.g., brake/ABS/suspension systems, air systems, electrical/lighting, etc.).
  • Repair components when feasible, rather than opting for replacement.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of prior welding experience or a welding diploma/certification from a vocational/technical institution.
  • At least 2 years of fabrication experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fundamental knowledge of heavy-duty components and systems.
  • Basic mechanic's tool set/toolbox.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and flowcharts.
  • Fabricate sub-structures based on reference drawings/blueprints.
  • Ability to read wiring and hydraulic diagrams and blueprints.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to propose enhancements and modifications.
