OR Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled OR Assistant to join our team at Women & Infants Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the OR department with transferring patients from the stretcher to the OR table and supporting nursing staff with patient positioning for surgery. Additionally, the OR Assistant will be responsible for setting up OR rooms, gathering case carts and equipment, and delivering specimens to the pathology room.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in transferring patients from the stretcher to the OR table
- Support nursing staff with patient positioning for surgery
- Set up OR rooms and gather case carts and equipment
- Deliver specimens to the pathology room
- Transport patients to and from the Operating Room

Requirements:

- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- 6 months to 1 year of clinical experience required
- Must have and maintain CPR certification
- Knowledge of inventory procedures and unit stock items
- Basic cleaning skills and infection control policies and procedures
- Proficiency in the English language
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Work Schedule:

- Four 8 hour shifts
- One 4 hour shift
