Position Summary:
As a Sanitation Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of cleaning services to ensure the campus remains clean and hygienic.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Dusting and trash removal
- Odor management
- Collecting and distributing linens
- Sanitizing surfaces
- Cleaning bathrooms
- Mopping and vacuuming
- Carpet and upholstery cleaning
- All other cleaning tasks necessary to maintain a safe environment
You will consistently apply infection control protocols and universal safety measures.
Daily Duties:
You will:
- Clean and sanitize all facility areas daily, adhering to departmental standards and procedures.
- Ensure proper maintenance and appearance of cleaning equipment.
- Uphold environmental, infection, and odor control standards.
- Monitor compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Handle and store Potentially Infectious Material Waste (PIMW) appropriately.
- Assist with special functions and set up for meetings as required.
- Be available for on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification within the first month of employment.
- Previous experience in a commercial or healthcare cleaning environment is preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, particularly over the phone.
- The capacity to maintain confidentiality, multitask, and coordinate projects.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to relay safety concerns and observations.
