Certification Requirements- Mandatory Certifications: BLS
- Department: Medical Telemetry
- Bed Capacity: 31
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Common Diagnoses: CHF, strokes, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox, and underlying cardiac conditions.
- Experience Required: Proficiency in radial band and femoral catheter recoveries.
- Drip Titration: Not required for RNs.
- Common Drips: Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, octreotide.
- Monitoring Staff: RNs are responsible for telemetry readings, supported by a centralized telemetry technician.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Team Lead during daytime shifts, does not take patients; Charge Nurse on nights/weekends/holidays may take patients.
- Nurse Aides: Present with a ratio of 1:10-12.
- Respiratory Equipment: CPAP/BiPAP used intermittently.
- EPIC experience is essential.
- Previous travel experience is preferred.
- Must possess an active Illinois nursing license.
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, typically from 5 AM to 5 PM. Scheduling is managed by the Team Lead.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.
- On-Call Requirements: None.
- Floating Requirements: May float to medical floors or step-down units for telemetry-level patients.
- Scrub Color: Caribbean blue scrubs.
- Unit Orientation: One 12-hour shift for department-specific orientation.
- Clinical prescreening is required by the facility. The hiring manager has a 24-hour window to accept or decline candidates.
- Radius Rule: Clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility will receive a rate that is $7.00 less than the base rate.
- BLS certification and a valid driver's license are required for consideration.
- Local placements are accepted (must reside at least 20 miles from the facility).
