Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proficiently perform radiologic procedures, including positioning patients and selecting exposure factors.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient care.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Identify patients and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist and communicate with radiologists, working independently outside the department with providers.
  • Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system and documenting billing codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, facilitating clinical problem-solving and collaborating with other departments.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced training beyond high school in radiologic technology.
  • At least one year of experience in a radiologic technologist role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in radiology positioning and techniques, aseptic techniques, and C-arm procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Knowledge of specialty physician protocols and ability to work effectively with diverse providers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. You must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day and lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 pounds over the head, and carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance. You must also be able to push/pull with 30 pounds of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

Clear speech, vision, and hearing are required for this role.
