Grooming Technician

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that teaches the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, as well as safety, pet first aid, and CPR. As a Grooming Technician in Training, you will work closely with our team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure the safety and well-being of our animal clients.

• Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of pet behavior, body language, and handling techniques
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for our customers and their pets
• Assist with daily tasks, including bathing, drying, brushing, and combing various coat types
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of grooming tools and equipment, including clippers, dryers, and bathing products
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers, both verbally and in writing

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and move animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels. You will be exposed to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste. You will also be exposed to wet conditions, particularly when bathing dogs. You will work shifts that vary from one store to another, but generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
