Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified First Assistant to join our team. As a Certified First Assistant, you will work under the direction of the operating surgeon, providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to ensure safe and efficient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon in providing exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions during surgical procedures.
  • Restock and change over rooms between cases.
  • Communicate with the surgeon and surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon to expedite procedures and minimize patient stress.
  • Ensure patient temperature is discussed with anesthesia personnel in compliance with desired temperature ranges.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program in surgical assisting and attainment of the CSFA credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
  • BLS certification.
  • One year experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
