Job Summary:

As a Computer Systems Technician with Cumberland County School District, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our computer labs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support to teachers and staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills to utilize our software and hardware effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to teachers and staff on the use of computer software and hardware.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as disk back-ups and equipment checks.
  • Train users on the full utilization of hardware and software.
  • Resolve computer problems in a timely manner, providing answers or referrals as needed.
  • Install new software and develop applications for users.
  • Evaluate hardware and software, making recommendations for purchases.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or 48 college-level courses preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the use of computing and information technology resources.
  • Specific knowledge of software or systems supported may be required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data.
  • Auditory acuity to hear telephone conversations, customer questions, and supervisor instructions.
  • Visual acuity to read and analyze computer screens, documents, and correspondence.
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for driving a school bus.
