Meat Department Trainee

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Department Trainee to join our team. As a Meat Department Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting the Meat Department Manager in maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring that all meat products are handled and displayed in accordance with company standards.

• Assist the Meat Department Manager in maintaining a clean and organized meat department, including rotating stock and ensuring that all products are properly labeled and priced.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering customer questions, making recommendations, and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Assist with receiving and stocking meat products, including unpacking and storing products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Participate in inventory management, including counting and reconciling inventory, and reporting any discrepancies to the Meat Department Manager.
• Assist with maintaining a high level of product knowledge, including learning about different types of meat, cooking methods, and nutritional information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Meat Department Manager, including assisting with special projects and events.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.

• Previous experience in a meat department or related field.
• Knowledge of meat products, including cuts, cooking methods, and nutritional information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software systems.
