Position Overview

Qualifications

Educational Background:

All educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Requirements: Completion of a Medical Assistant program accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or possession of Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification, along with successful completion of the following courses:

  • Medical Terminology
  • Anatomy & Physiology or equivalent
  • Pharmacology

Preferred Qualifications: A Licensed Practical Nurse license from the State of Wisconsin or Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Experience:

Minimum Required: At least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with completion of core classes within the first year of employment.

Preferred Experience: Background in primary care within an outpatient environment; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Certifications:

Required certifications must be maintained throughout employment.

Minimum Required:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
