Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound studies on patients, as well as maintaining equipment and exam rooms to ensure patient and staff safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound studies on patients
  • Maintain equipment and exam rooms to ensure patient and staff safety
  • Develop preliminary reports using applicable systems
  • Comply with IAC standards
  • Properly identify and orient patients to equipment and exam procedures
  • Interact and communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Maintain accurate records of all exams
  • Participate in quality improvement programs
  • Perform on-call functions and accept weekend rotations as required
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited echosonography program
  • One to three years of adult cardiac and vascular ultrasound experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathological processes of the cardiovascular system
  • Credentialing in echocardiography required from ARDMS, CCI, or CARDUP
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to work independently and make technical decisions
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
