Responsibilities
  • Perform complex engineering calculations using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Create detailed structural design plans and details in AutoCAD and Revit to meet project requirements.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge in structural engineering.
  • Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and survey structural components of existing buildings.
  • Collaborate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review and respond to shop drawings and RFIs to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks to ensure project quality and safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of structural design software, including RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, SAFE, PROFIS, etc.
  • Strong understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design principles.
  • Knowledge of current building and material design codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE7, AISC360, ACI318, ACI 530, or NDS.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
