Job Title: Clinical Informatics Specialist

Crossing Rivers Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare IT department, you will play a critical role in aligning Information Technology solutions with business initiatives in the clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison for clinical information systems for physicians and nurses.
  • Utilize and maintain all clinical systems, including EPIC.
  • Conduct on-going EPIC computer training and/or work with IMS, Education, Physicians, and Clinical staff to implement new procedures or changes in present computer procedures.
  • Instruct physician and clinical staff on electronic charting and use of EPIC programs and related computer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot software problems using techniques to isolate problems quickly and follow through to ensure final resolution of problems.
  • Communicate changes and enhancements involving Crossing Rivers Health clinical information systems to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the two-way flow of information and communication for establishing and maintaining understanding between Information Management Systems and Clinical Departments.
  • Work with the IT Director and EPIC team to set up system configuration parameters and maintain computer documentation according to organization policy and procedure.
  • Assess user skills, coach individuals, and offer individual or group meetings to enhance user proficiency.
  • Participate in the weekly on-call rotation and other job duties as assigned to effectively meet the needs of the patients, the department, and the organization as a whole.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Active RN License with the ability to practice in WI required.
  • EPIC Certification preferred upon hire; EPIC Certification required within one year of employment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Nursing.
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware required; knowledge of EPIC Clinical Modules preferred.
