Job Summary:

As a highly skilled Addiction Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare to Kaiser Permanente members in a cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for patients with Substance Use Disorders, including those experiencing substance withdrawal syndromes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with Substance Use Disorders.
  • Order diagnostic labs, studies, and medications, and screen and treat for co-occurring physical and mental disorders.
  • Evaluate and manage patients for Medication Assisted Treatment of Addiction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and counselors, to manage the Medication Assisted Treatment population.
  • Provide inpatient care by rounding on Addiction Medicine patients and writing post-discharge orders.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of experience in Primary Care or Specialty Care.
  • Minimum one year of experience treating patients requiring Medication Assisted Treatment for Substance Use Disorders.
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License (Washington) or Physician Assistant License (Oregon) within six months of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of clinical experience in Addiction or Psychiatric settings.

Notes:

  • This position may require rotating on-call hospital shifts.
  • Work locations include East Instate, Brookside on Sunnyside campus.
