Position Summary:The Industrial Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of various mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, conveyors, and gearboxes. The mechanic will evaluate performance, clean, lubricate, diagnose issues, and test components to identify necessary repairs.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed repair drawings related to industrial equipment.
- Dismantle and reassemble machinery as needed.
- Transport equipment to designated areas for maintenance or repair.
- Establish solid foundations for machinery on-site.
- Align and calibrate machinery components.
- Grind and file machine parts on-site.
- Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Utilize tape measures accurately.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in reading specifications, blueprints, and tape measures.
- Skilled in using tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Welding experience is advantageous.
- Combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Dependable attendance and consistency in work schedule.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Capable of working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Availability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Willingness to respond to emergency and outage situations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to travel to job sites, which may require overnight stays.
