Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing emergency treatment and care to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and stabilize patients in emergency situations
  • Provide advanced life support, including cardiac monitoring and oxygen therapy
  • Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and other medical procedures
  • Notify RNs and physicians of rhythm changes and other critical information
  • Apply orthopaedic appliances and simple splints, and assist with equipment setup and sterile procedures
  • Transport patients and specimens, and maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic training program
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of start date in the Emergency Department
  • One year of experience as an EMT-P
Physical Requirements

This role requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination, and extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
