Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Midstate Radiology Associates, you will operate MRI equipment and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. You will follow established policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and maintain the MRI equipment in good working order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting the correct technique and utilizing patient assessment to produce accurate images.
  • Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
  • Start intravenous sites, assess existing sites, and inject contrast according to established protocols to assist radiologists in diagnosis.
  • Maintain the MRI equipment, cleaning and disinfecting after each use, and report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to the supervisor.
  • Document patient and exam information, storing computerized images for future reference or retrieval.
  • Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, setting up films properly in the PACS system and accurately inputting data in the RIS.
  • Perform and document weekly quality assurance testing on equipment to maintain high performance.
  • Work effectively as a team member, providing quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
  • Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining and understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT state license.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience as a radiological technologist.
  • Associate's or Applied Science degree in a related field.
Working Conditions

May be required to rotate on night, weekend, and/or holiday call schedule. May be required to cover ancillary offices as needed. OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. May involve physical lifting and/or walking.
