Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective social studies lessons to students in a dual language program
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students with varying language proficiency levels
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate instruction and assessments
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators
  • Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and social growth
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Virginia Department of Education license or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience teaching social studies in a dual language program
  • Strong knowledge of current standards and curriculum in language arts and content areas
  • Ability to work with students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Experience working with students with disabilities and English language learners
  • Knowledge of technology integration and instructional design
