Job Title: Wound Care Nurse

Vivo Healthcare University is seeking a skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of attending physicians, the Director of Nursing Services, or the Medical Director of the facility.
  • Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents, in accordance with established medical practices and facility policies.
  • Supervise the quality of wound care provided to residents and implement nursing policies and procedures.
  • Monitor each resident's Quality of Wound Care and maintain an accurate Resident's condition tracking list for the IDT.
  • Review admissions from previous days to ensure completion of wound care appropriate forms and orders were picked up and transcribed correctly.
  • Assess resident devices and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
  • Observe infection control procedures related to nursing services and make daily rounds to ensure wound care programs are being followed.
  • Monitor that significant changes are identified timely and documented on file.
  • Ensure that the care plans are updated with any treatment change per MD's recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program.
  • Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience as an LPN/RN. RN is preferred.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/RN in this state.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
