Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary
As a Phlebotomy Specialist at Atrius Health, you will be responsible for obtaining blood samples and other non-blood specimens from patients and delivering them to the laboratory. You will also provide factual information to patients regarding laboratory tests, following standard procedures. The job tasks will vary based on the needs of the site.

Responsibilities
Obtain blood samples and other non-blood specimens from patients
Deliver samples to the laboratory
Provide factual information to patients regarding laboratory tests
Perform job tasks based on the needs of the site

Requirements
High School diploma or equivalency certificate required
CPR and Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred
Graduation from a Phlebotomy technical training program strongly preferred
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of medical terminology obtained through previous medical practice experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation required
Proficiency in the use of Lab Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
