Job Overview

Wood County Hospital is seeking applications for a Patient Care Technician within our Pain Management Department. The Patient Care Technician is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician, registered nurse, or licensed practical nurse. This role also involves maintaining a safe and sanitary environment while performing assigned clerical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and document patient conditions accurately.
  • Assist with and document activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Maintain cleanliness by changing bed linens and organizing patient rooms; provide additional linens and safeguard personal belongings.
  • Facilitate patient transportation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of the setup, usage, adjustment, application, discontinuation, and cleaning of patient care equipment.

Shift Information:

Hours: 16 hours per week

Shift: Day Shift

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Completion of a nurse aide program or relevant experience in providing nurse aide duties, including Activities of Daily Living (ADL), bed changes, transferring patients, taking vital signs, and personal hygiene assistance. A combination of education and experience will be evaluated for this position.

Required Certification:

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification.

Preferred Certification/License:

  • STNA, Medical Assistant, or CNA preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient care is preferred.
