Fuel Site Operations Specialist

The Montgomery City County Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Fuel Site Operations Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining fuel sites at various city locations, performing preventive maintenance and skilled repair work on fuel equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of petroleum products.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in petroleum equipment service and repair or a related mechanical repair field. They will also possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B and a Hazardous Material and Tanker Endorsements within six months of hire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering petroleum and alternative fuel products, servicing all city-owned vehicles, maintaining daily records of fuel products, equipment serviced, and monthly records of fuel and servicing. They will also be responsible for repairing and rebuilding liquid fuel dispensers, pumps, piping, valves, vapor recovery systems, and special equipment.

This is a critical role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, and will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain fuel sites at various city locations
  • Perform preventive maintenance and skilled repair work on fuel equipment
  • Ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of petroleum products
  • Order petroleum and alternative fuel products
  • Servicing all city-owned vehicles
  • Maintain daily records of fuel products, equipment serviced, and monthly records of fuel and servicing
  • Repair and rebuild liquid fuel dispensers, pumps, piping, valves, vapor recovery systems, and special equipment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in petroleum equipment service and repair or a related mechanical repair field
