Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Prevention Director to lead our Infection Prevention Programs for designated healthcare facilities, clinics, and healthcare services throughout the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct the overall day-to-day activities of the Infection Prevention Program.
  • Supervise and mentor Infection Preventionists at healthcare sites.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide data for performance appraisals and ongoing evaluation of the team.
  • Assume responsibility for operational oversight of Infection Prevention programs in the absence of department leadership.
  • Develop and pilot indicators and data collection tools for identification and classification of events, indicators, and outcomes.
  • Advocate for patients, visitors, and healthcare workers throughout the continuum of care by creating, implementing, and revising infection prevention policies.
  • Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for sterilization/disinfection issues, Clinical Valve Analysis teams, and other Committees.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement based on indicators, process, and outcome measures, other findings, or observations.
  • Coordinate/participate in quality/performance improvement activities; utilize facilitation skills, data analysis, and statistical process control to effect improvement in quality and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop infection prevention strategies that address the risk of infection transmission between patients and healthcare workers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field required.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or other related Master's prepared field preferred.
  • Current NC license as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) required.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience required.
  • At least 2 years of administrative experience in the healthcare field preferred.
