JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent
Position Summary:We are seeking a qualified Preoperative Registered Nurse to conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments necessary for outpatient procedures. This role involves delivering safe and personalized nursing care during the immediate postoperative and post-anesthesia phases. The nurse will monitor patients and execute physician orders throughout both the preoperative and postoperative processes.
Key Responsibilities:The Preoperative Nurse will be tasked with the planning, implementation, and assessment of nursing care provided preoperatively.
- Prepare the patient's care environment thoroughly prior to each procedure.
- Ensure that all required equipment and supplies are ready for the patient's operation.
- Perform a detailed physical and psychological evaluation while reviewing the patient's medical history and diagnostic results.
- Examine the patient's records before the surgical intervention.
- Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as directed.
- Monitor patients until they are transferred to the operating room.

- At least 1 year of recent RN experience in a clinical environment.
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ASN).
- Current BCLS/ACLS certification (no online certifications accepted).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or ICU setting.
- Preferred experience in an ambulatory surgery center.
- Preferred experience in gastroenterology.
- The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
- Willingness to float to Prep OP PACU Post Op as needed.
- Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred.
