Your Role

As a Principal Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of sophisticated electrical systems, including but not limited to generator installations, medium voltage distribution networks, uninterruptible power supplies, and comprehensive lighting and alarm systems. You will lead a talented team of engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality technical documents and project proposals.
  • Leverage extensive engineering expertise across various technical disciplines.
  • Utilize advanced design methodologies to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Lead the creation of innovative electrical system designs.
  • Communicate intricate technical solutions effectively to clients.
  • Oversee project teams and manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Facilitate and lead client discussions and meetings.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in their professional development.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, equipment suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Engage in project management tasks, including proposal writing and client relations.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules and resolve engineering design challenges.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of existing systems and conditions.
  • Prepare project specifications and oversee construction administration.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Participate in professional organizations and contribute to industry knowledge.
  • Adhere to ethical practices and company policies regarding safety and conduct.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on building systems. You should have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to lead project teams effectively.

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in electrical system design for commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient understanding of electrical systems and relevant codes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional certifications such as LEED or Uptime ATD.
  • Experience with short circuit coordination and arc flash analysis.
  • Familiarity with mission-critical environments and international standards.
