Behavioral Health Support Specialist

Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician will provide one-on-one support to patients with various behavioral health needs. This role requires close monitoring of patient safety, observing behaviors, and maintaining a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides individualized support to patients with behavioral health needs.
- Closely monitors patient safety and maintains a safe environment.
- Observes patient behaviors and identifies risk factors.
- Assists with the implementation of safety measures, such as physical restraints and observation levels.
- Responds to and assists with de-escalating acute behavioral episodes.
- Identifies patient behaviors that could lead to escalation and utilizes de-escalation techniques.
- Actively monitors patients and the environment for safety concerns.
- May perform vital signs and assist with Activities of Daily Living as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Completes patient care documentation and administrative duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED, Associate's Degree preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) within three months of hire.
- Wellness De-escalation training within six months of hire.
- Six months of practical experience in a behavioral health or educational setting preferred.
