Key Responsibilities:- Teach assigned courses as scheduled, utilizing effective instructional strategies to promote student learning and engagement.
- Design curriculum that embraces diversity, in all forms, to foster talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies, with an understanding of the socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
- Consider individual differences of students to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in the identification of students with academic or other needs and respond by utilizing an appropriate resource, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Utilize technology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives of courses and programs, communicating clearly to students the expectations concerning the use of such technology.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies, including attendance records, grades, and progress feedback.
- Conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Engage in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties and professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices in teaching and learning.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.
- Utilize technology to assist in communication with students, ensuring timely and effective feedback and support.
- Encourage a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Help ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying areas of opportunity and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, equitable, and productive work and learning environment where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel valued and are able to contribute to their full potential, regardless of their differences.
- Ensure accessible and inclusive curriculum design and teaching strategies, promoting diversity and equity in all aspects of the learning environment.
- Foster and maintain a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- A.A.S. or ATS in Medical Assisting.
- Certified Medical Assistant and experience in both clinical and administrative medical assistant duties.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour
Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour
Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
Full Time/Part Time: Part time
