We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Professional to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and resolve problems with laboratory equipment, test results, and workflow.
- Participate in quality control and equipment maintenance activities to ensure optimal laboratory performance.
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, including chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic procedures.
- Prepare and analyze specimens, reagents, and solutions as required.
- Report test results to healthcare providers and consult with them regarding test results.
- Review test results for accuracy and timeliness, and correct errors as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Eligibility to sit for the Medical Technologist (MT) exam within 12 months of hire.
- Obtain certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) within one year of becoming eligible.
- No prior experience required.
- Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technician, or a related field.
- Eligibility for the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification.
