About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Counter Extremism Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting enhanced investigative research and analysis into extremism in Southern California. You will also align and coordinate interagency responses to counter extremism in the region, as well as support and deliver education to partners, law enforcement, policymakers, and the public about local extremist actors, incidents, trends, and other developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detecting, tracking, and analyzing physical threats, hate incidents, and extremist trends related to the Southern California community through OSINT monitoring of mainstream and alternative social media platforms.
- Identifying credible threats and helping to coordinate joint agency responses.
- Streamlining and standardizing communications between partner organizations to improve information sharing and strategic alignment.
- Producing written analyses, visual presentations, and other materials to educate partners, policymakers, law enforcement, media, communities, organizations, and other stakeholders about extremist hate and threats in the region.
Requirements:
- Excellent operational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with various investigative research and OSINT techniques.
- Ability to multi-task and act flexibly in response to changing priorities.
- Proven ability to plan and organize major organizational activities while managing multiple priorities.
