Job Title: Network Control Technician

Join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries as a Network Control Technician, where you will play a critical role in the administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of our Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain smooth operation of local area, wide area, and virtual private networks (VPN)
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage
  • Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline
  • 7 years of related experience
  • Security+ or equivalent certification
  • Use of Enterprise Patching systems preferred
  • Cisco experience required
  • Linux+/Microsoft/Cisco certification preferred
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance
