Role Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for all aspects of the nursing process. This position entails taking on a leadership role, overseeing staff performance during assigned shifts.
The RN is tasked with ensuring quality of life and care for residents, adhering to all organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and standards of care.
In the capacity of Charge Nurse, responsibilities include assisting with operational functions, management, and clinical activities within the department.
Compensation and Benefits:Salary Range:
Base Rate $33.89-$37.00 per hour, with additional differentials for charge nurses and shifts during evenings and nights.

Key Responsibilities:
Assessment:
Evaluate residents' health status and needs through assessment, interpretation, documentation, and communication of relevant data.
Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation:
Develop and execute tailored care plans based on assessments and diagnoses, continuously evaluating and adjusting the care plan as necessary.
Administer, delegate, and monitor direct resident services to ensure quality care in line with the Nurse Practice Act.
Promote and implement rehabilitation and restorative practices, focusing on the resident's preferences and routines.
Medication Management:
Exhibit knowledge of medications and their proper administration according to each resident's health status and medication regimen. Document and report resident responses to medications accurately.
Treatments and Clinical Skills:
Perform skin treatments, catheterizations, tube feedings, and other necessary care competently. Deliver direct resident care to meet individual needs.
Education for Residents, Families, and Staff:
Plan and provide education for residents, families, and staff, identifying learning needs and documenting responses to education.
Provide training for new and existing staff as required.
Documentation:
Maintain professional, accurate, and complete documentation in accordance with current standards and organizational policies.
Emergency and Disaster Preparedness:
Execute first aid, emergency, and disaster procedures in compliance with established policies and standards of care.
Physical Requirements:Regularly required to stand, bend, and walk, with occasional requirements to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, and pull. Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds frequently and support weights of 10-50 pounds. Emergency situations may necessitate carrying or supporting weights of 25 pounds or more. Requires manual dexterity for repetitive tasks and the ability to hear, read medical records, and document accurately.
Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required. Must hold a current active RN nursing license in good standing. CPR certification is necessary. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English is essential. Clinical experience in geriatrics, long-term care, and/or rehabilitation is preferred.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of nursing, including gerontological nursing and related areas such as rehabilitation and mental health. Skilled in physical assessment techniques and the nursing process. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and a willingness to embrace change for improvement.
