Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at PMA Companies. As a member of our Financial Reporting department, you will play a critical role in preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports and records to support our financial reporting for The PMA Insurance Group subsidiary of Old Republic Corporation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Develop and maintain routine financial spreadsheets, records, and transactions to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Prepare financial records for reporting to insurance rating agencies, monitoring reporting requirements in states of business, and interacting with outside parties as needed.
  • Assist with internal control compliance by referencing internal financial standard documentation and ensuring adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to our Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards, and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent insurance-related work experience.
  • Minimum of one year experience in accounting/finance or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial data and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis/judgment and sound decision making, with a focus on attention to detail and quality awareness.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in 2010 Microsoft Office, as well as accounting/GL software (EAS preferred).
