Position Overview:
As a Clinical Medication Specialist, you will utilize your independent judgment and analytical skills to advocate for medication practices that prioritize safety and efficacy while evaluating the economic implications of therapeutic options. This role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and direct engagement with patients to proactively resolve medication-related challenges. You will ensure that patient care aligns with the department's quality enhancement strategies and adheres to the standards set forth by regulatory bodies for pharmaceutical services. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of one year of hospital pharmacy experience or three years in a related pharmacy role is preferred.
Educational Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. from an accredited pharmacy institution is mandatory. Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 or specialized residency is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in the use of technology and software applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook) relevant to practice and effective communication. Active participation in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) is preferred. Membership in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or other recognized pharmacy organizations is also preferred.
Licensure Requirements:
An active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligibility to obtain one within six months.
