Santa Rosa Junior College is seeking a part-time associate faculty member to teach short-term, non-credit vocational courses in the Adult Education department. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching adult learners and be able to customize their teaching approach for different literacy levels.

Responsibilities
  • Teach short-term, non-credit vocational courses in the Adult Education department
  • Customize teaching approach for different literacy levels
  • Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) of occupational experience directly related to the subject area of the course taught
  • Associate's degree and six years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) of related occupational experience directly related to the subject area of the course taught
  • California Community College Instructor's Credential in the designated discipline area(s)
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
  • Bilingual abilities (fluent) in English/Spanish
  • Experience in the use of technology for instruction and student support
