Overview of Nuclear Manufacturing at Cardinal Health
Manufacturing plays a crucial role in managing production costs and maintenance tasks, which include process enhancement, supply chain oversight, quality control, employee safety and engagement, as well as environmental responsibility.
Nuclear Manufacturing is dedicated to producing time-sensitive radiopharmaceuticals within a highly regulated framework (such as FDA, NRC, DOT) to facilitate patient care through disease diagnosis, staging, and monitoring.
Compensation: $1,500 New Hire Sign-On Bonus
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Flexibility is required to work any 8-hour shift between 8 PM and 4 AM. Weekend work may be necessary as part of a rotation, with holiday shifts depending on customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive training, including e-learning and hands-on components, to ensure and maintain proficiency.
- Manufacture radioactive isotopes, which involves synthesis setup, hot cell manipulations, and distribution.
- Conduct quality control assessments for each batch using various analytical instruments.
- Operate in an ISO 7 cleanroom to produce product vials and customer vials for pharmaceutical use.
- Perform environmental and personnel monitoring in ISO 5, ISO 7, and ISO 8 settings.
- Coordinate daily production schedules based on pharmacy and customer requirements.
- Exhibit strong documentation practices and communication skills, while also handling clerical tasks related to production records and report preparation.
- Manage inventory through SAP, including receiving and inspecting materials.
- Execute daily radiation safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred. Background in Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, etc.) is advantageous.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience is preferred; laboratory experience is highly valued.
- Ability to work overnight shifts is essential.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, particularly in regulated environments, is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
- Capability to follow detailed processing instructions consistently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and exercise sound judgment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 55 pounds as necessary.
- Visual acuity to detect fine particulates and differentiate colors in solutions.
- Manual dexterity for equipment operation and handling small objects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Expectations:
- Utilize basic skills and techniques to complete routine tasks within the assigned area.
- Maintain necessary licenses, training, and certifications.
- Work on basic and routine assignments under close supervision.
- Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures and quality guidelines.
- All work will be reviewed for accuracy, with any deviations requiring supervisor approval.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
