We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our Vascular Center team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in the delivery of high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with patients in the outpatient setting, providing procedural assistance and clinical support throughout the patient encounter.
- Work collaboratively with venous and other attending physicians, as well as other staff members, to ensure a quality and safety-based work flow and efficient patient flow.
- Maintain neat, clean, and safe patient care areas, ensuring proper par levels and product expiration of clinical supplies.
- Provide ongoing administrative support to clinic operations, including scheduling requests, patient visit recordkeeping, and data entry into electronic medical records.
- Assist with patient preparation and positioning, set up and operation of specialized equipment, and post-procedure patient care.
- Maintain competency in sterile technique and ensure adherence to hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Triages clinical phone calls, documents, and routes to physician as indicated, and receives patient messages, reviews with clinical providers per practice protocol, and takes action as directed.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain standard and specialized clinical equipment, including monitors, lasers, and other medical devices.
- Actively participate in the Universal Protocol process and maintain Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) practice standards, patient recordkeeping, procedure and complication logs, and quality initiative measures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree or certificate in a medical assistant program required.
- Past experience as a medical assistant of 1-2 years required, preferably in a hospital or busy physician practice.
- Successful completion of hospital and department training.
