Trauma Stepdown Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
The primary objective of the Trauma Stepdown Registered Nurse role is to ensure the comprehensive care, safety, and goal attainment of assigned patients. This is achieved through thorough assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention for actual or potential health issues, and evaluation of the patient's response to care.
The Registered Nurse prioritizes patient mobilization and the prevention of skin breakdown and falls, implementing necessary measures to achieve these outcomes.
As a vital member of a designated care team, the Registered Nurse collaborates, coordinates, and guides team members in the planning of patient care within a secure environment, aiming to meet patient care objectives in alignment with the developmental stages and cultural expectations of patients and their families.
The proficient practice of the Registered Nurse is reflected in the achievement of patient and family goals, satisfaction levels, and the quality of care and services provided, all of which are meticulously documented in accordance with the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Patient/Family Centered Principles, Department of Health Standards, and institutional policies and procedures.
As a licensed professional and integral member of an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse embodies the behavioral expectations defined for this position and adheres to the Nursing Department's philosophy.
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Phlebotomy or IV certification is preferred but must be obtained within the first six months of employment. Proficiency in English is essential. Successful completion of a Progressive Care Course or obtaining Progressive Care Certification is required. Experience in Adult Medical/Surgical settings is preferred. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities, effective interpersonal skills, and the capability to organize care for multiple patients.
