Job Title: Reading Corps Tutor

Colorado Youth for a Change is seeking a dedicated and passionate Reading Corps Tutor to join our team. As a Reading Corps Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing supplemental reading practice to kindergarten to 3rd grade students, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in reading.

About the Position

This is an AmeriCorps service member position within the Colorado Reading Corps program. As a Reading Corps Tutor, you will be placed at one elementary school to provide individualized reading support to students. You will use evidence-based literacy interventions and work closely with coaches to ensure each student is on track to read at grade level.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supplemental reading practice to kindergarten to 3rd grade students
  • Use evidence-based literacy interventions to support student reading development
  • Work closely with coaches to ensure student progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student reading skills and adjust instruction accordingly
Requirements
  • 17 years or older by start date
  • Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
  • Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Not have served more than three AmeriCorps terms previously
  • Submit to a full background check, including a sex offender registry check, state criminal history registry check, and FBI fingerprint-based check
