At Student Transportation of America, we are committed to providing safe and reliable transportation services to our students. We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in maintaining our fleet of buses and vehicles.
Job Description:
The Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of buses and vehicles. This includes performing daily inspections, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and repairing complex systems such as engines, electrical, and brakes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engines and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized vehicle and equipment repair courses;
- At least two (2) years hands-on experience as a mechanic/technician in an automotive, school bus fleet, trucking or heavy equipment environment;
- ASE certification is a plus;
- A valid CDL with S and P endorsements is preferred;

Other Information:
This is a full-time position with a regular schedule. The job may require on-call duty, extended hours, or weekend work.
