This role is responsible for preparing whole turkeys for packaging, including hanging chilled turkeys on moving shackles, shaping whole turkeys to product specifications, and sealing turkeys into bags on rotamatic machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hanging chilled turkeys on moving shackles
  • Shaping whole turkeys to product specifications
  • Injecting basting solution into turkey breasts
  • Sealing turkeys into bags on rotamatic machines
  • Weighing, tagging, and netting packaged turkeys
  • Rotating through jobs and performing multiple tasks within the department
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures, damp-to-wet conditions, and exposure to raw meat and associated parts. The ability to work with loud and noisy machinery, chemicals, and fumes is also required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Standing for up to 8 hours or more per day
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to sixty (60) pounds
  • Ability to grip, grasp, and lift repetitively through the course of the workday
  • Operating handheld and/or mechanical machinery
Requirements:
  • No minimum education requirement
  • No previous work experience required
  • Follows all safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions and policies
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
  • Must be able to work at line speed upon completion of training period
  • Accountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours
  • Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
