Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health Cabarrus. This is a weekend position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and documenting relevant information.
  • Interview patients to obtain a complete medical history and review electronic medical records to obtain pertinent clinical information.
  • Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with radiologists as needed.
  • Inform nursing personnel of any changes in patient condition and assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.
  • Perform CT scanning and assist radiologists/physician assistants during invasive procedures.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease.
  • Adhere to hospital fire and safety procedures and rotate shifts as required, including call back, holidays, and weekends.
  • Operate radiology computer systems to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, and document contrast administration in the medication administration record.
  • Keep the area completely stocked and assist other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a CT scan.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
  • Current CPR certification.
Work Environment

This position is located at Atrium Health Cabarrus, a 457-bed not-for-profit hospital in Concord, NC. The hospital provides an extensive inpatient and outpatient network, including the Jeff Gordon Children's Center, Hayes Family Center, and Batte Cancer Center, part of Atrium Health's Levine Cancer Institute.
